The I Ching does not offer itself with proofs and results; it does not vaunt itself, nor is it easy to approach. Like a part of nature, it waits until it is discovered. It offers neither facts nor power, but for lovers of self-knowledge, of wisdom – if there be such – it seems to be the right book.”

The I Ching Lecture and Workshop

I Ching (Yijing) Lecture:
A Passion for Change

Friday: May 9, 2008 7:30 p.m.

Jung called Yijing or the Classic of Change “our mirror” – it tells us what we are and what we are not. We will look at the history, mystery and practice of the East’s greatest tradition of wisdom divination as a Great Stream that reflects the symbols of the Way or Dao as they move through us, ending with a practical example of divination to illustrate Change at work.

I Ching (Yijing) Workshop:
Encountering Change

Saturday: May 10, 2008 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

A practical and philosophical introduction to using I Ching (Yijing) or the Classic of Change, treasured in the East for thousands of years as a guide on the journey of life. Working directly from the concerns of the participants, I will try to provide a general background to the Way of Change and specific literal and ritual techniques for posing questions, interpreting answers and applying them to the situations we face in daily life. The goal is to open our practical and spiritual needs to what Jung called "the spirit of the East."
